Sphynx appear to be hairless but some do have a degree of short sparse downy fur that can be on their ears, muzzle, tail, feet, and genitals. Hair or peach fuzz can disappear with age or weather. The texture of skin resembles the fuzz of a peach. Whiskers and eyebrows may not be present. Kittens are usually more wrinkled than adults. They have large lemon shaped eyes and long ears. The sphynx does not do well left alone all day. They are very active and social. They love children and dogs. They learn tricks easily and love attention. Sphynx are very vocal and can live up to 12-14 years old. A Female can weigh about 6-9 pounds and Males can weigh about 8-12 pounds. Sphynx are very loyal, inquisitive, friendly, and gentle, and require a lot of attention. They will greet visitors like old friends. They can be clumsy when they overplay. They are very loyal to their owners and love to sleep with them.

Elf is a mix between the Sphynx and the American Curl. Elf cats have the body of a sphynx with curled back ears and a profound longer face like the American curl breed. Females weigh 6-8 pounds and Males weigh 8-12 pounds. They are highly playful, very intelligent, extremely sociable, and friendly. They make excellent pets because they can easily integrate into any household and become part of the family. Elfs love to explore, be around their human, and crave attention. They are also very vocal! Elf is a new breed, while still considered as an experimental breed, TICA is working to accept them as a separate breed.

Bambino is a cross between a Sphynx and a Munchkin. It's wrinkled, fine peach fuzz or hairless, with short legs. Some have a "lion tail" (a puff of hair on the tail). Females weigh about 4-7 pounds and Males weigh about 5-9 pounds. They are friendly, intelligent, active, love to play, and affectionate. They love to be cuddled and love kids and other pets. They adapt easily. They are recognized  as an experimental breed through TICA.

Dwelf is a combination of a Sphynx, Elf, and Bambino. This is considered a designer breed. A Dwelf is small, about 6-7 pounds for female, 6-9 pounds for male, and is short and stocky. It's ears curl back like an Elf, it has short legs like a Munchkin, and has Sphynx like features. They are highly social and interactive and very similar to being "dog-like". They love to be around people and don't like to be left alone. They need lots of toys to keep them entertained. They are highly intelligent and require a lot of mental stimulation. There will be peach fuzz on this kitten and they will most likely feel like a peach/suede! They will have a lots of wrinkles on their legs and shoulders!

Odd Eye Heterochromia is a condition which means their eyes are two different colors, usually one is blue and the other one is yellow, green, or brown. Cats with odd eyes are usually white or have white on their body. If a cat has pink skin like hairless cat their fur would be white. This white spotting gene is responsible for controlling their eye color. In normal kittens, they are born with two blue eyes and over the next few weeks of life the melanin moves to the iris of the eye and causes the color of the eyes to change to green, yellow, or brown. In odd eye kitten's this will only occur in one of their eyes, while the other eye remains blue. This is a very rare occurrence.

Dominant Blue eye + Odd Eye
NCS carries the 'Topaz' Homozygous Dominant blue eye gene which means there are 2 blue eyed genes making the cat carry Blue eye or odd eye genes only on colored cats (not a white cat or a colorpoint cat; these genes are completely different). The DBE & DOE are extremely rare on colored cats. These cats generally have little to no white coloring whatsoever minimizing deafness. The topaz breed was discovered in ukraine. the gene is located on different chromosomes in different genes (PAX3, MITF, EDNRB, etc). A kitten that has come from a DBE or DOE, whom does not have blue/odd eyes is considered latent (possible carrier/not Dominant). odd eyes will happen in rare cases on all colors of cats (this is a spotting gene that will occur behind one eye of a DBE cat.
